Ὁ Κρὴς τὴν θάλατταν

Explanation

ἐπὶ τῶν ἐν οἷς διαφέρουσι ταῦτα φεύγειν προςποιουμένων ἡ παροιμία ἐστίν· ἐπειδὴ ναυτικώτατοι οἱ Κρῆτες ἐγένοντο. Μέμνηται ταύτης Ἀλκαῖος.
