Βοῦς ἐπὶ γλώττης

Explanation

παροιμία ἐπὶ τῶν μὴ δυναμένων παῤῥησιάζεσθαι, ἤτοι διὰ τὸ ἄφωνον τοῦ ζώου, ἢ διὰ τὸ τῶν Ἀθηναίων τὸ νόμισμα ἔχειν βοῦν ἐγκεχαραγμένον· ὅπερ ἐκτίνειν ἔδει τοὺς πέρα τοῦ δέοντος παῤῥησιαζομένους.
