αὕτη ἡ παροιμία εἴρηται ἐπὶ τῶν νενικηκότων τοὺς ἀνταγωνιστὰς διὰ πολλοῦ πόνου· Μῦς γὰρ Ταραντῖνος πύκτης ἐν Πίσῃ ἀγωνιζόμενος, καὶ πολλοὺς ἔχων ἀντιμάχους, πολλὰς πληγὰς λαβὼν, μόλις ἐνίκησεν.
