Here's another Heracles
English
Proverb
Here's another Heracles
Explanation
Clearchus, expounding the proverb, says that Heracles called Briareos came to Delphi, and taking, by some ancient custom, one of the treasures lying there, set out for the so-called Pillars of Heracles, and got the better of those there. Some time later the Tyrian Heracles came to Delphi to consult the oracle; and the god addressed him as "another Heracles." So the proverb gained currency.
