Δικαίαρχος φησὶν, ὅτι μελλούσης τῆς Ξέρξου στρατείας γίνεσθαι, οἱ Ἕλληνες ὐπογνόντες τῆς σωτηρίας, τὰς οὐσίας αὑτῶν ἀνήλισκον, ἐπιλέγοντες, Τάδε Μῆδος οὐ φυλάξει.
