Explanation
proverb of things truly said, either from the Delphic tripod or from the Pythagorean. For when a certain wicked man consulted the oracle, the god answered him with many strange things and added at the end: "These things, indeed, hath Phoebus declared from the Delphic tripod."

Τὰ ἀπὸ τρίποδος
Explanation
παροιμία ἐπὶ τῶν ἀληθῶς λεγομένων, ἤτοι ἀπὸ τοῦ Δελφικοῦ τρίποδος ἢ ἀπὸ τοῦ Πυθαγορικοῦ. Τινὶ γὰρ πονηρῷ χρωμένῳ πολλὰ ἄτοπα ὁ θεὸς ἀνεῖλε καὶ τέλος ἐπεῖπε· Ταῦτά τοι ἐκ τρίποδος τοῦ Δελφικοῦ ἔφρασε Φοῖβος.
