Celmis in iron
English
Proverb
Celmis in iron
Explanation
the proverb is set down for those exceedingly confident of themselves, that they are by nature strong and hard to overcome. For Celmis, one of the Idaean Dactyls, having outraged his mother Rhea and not having been kindly received by his brothers on Mount Ida, became thence the hardest iron. Sophocles mentions the story in his Satyrs.
